Hong Kong is a glittering testament to hard work, independent energy, ruthless competition, and myriad, brave entrepreneurial visions. What was once a barren rock has been transformed into a twenty-first century, international metropolis. This is thanks largely to a British colonial government that was just unimaginative enough to let the once penniless refugee population alone to pursue millions of dreams of how to get rich quickly.
